10 Networking Tricks for Introverts

Yes, I am an introvert. But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy going out with friends and party all night. I just get to a point of being bored easily, when I don't find the music or ambiance, that enticing anymore to put my mood upbeat. So I prefer being a laid-back person, just stay at home and relax. This is as far as my social life goes.

Career wise, when I graduated from college, I have always wanted to be out there and perform on stage. Make a name for myself and grab that Best Actress award. But due to financial constraints, I was led to consider "jumping on the bandwagon" and set my foot forward first, to be part of the BPO industry.

Years had passed, and I find myself searching for another challenge. Something that will bring out more of the best in me - but not compromising my well-being.

So, as I was surfing through the net, I saw this article from USnews about taking advantage of the networking industry. Still being part of an international, multi level marketing (MLM) company, Herbalife, made me realize that I have more than what it takes to endure this type of business.

I just need to do more and be more open to it. Let me know if this works for you, too - fellow introverts. :)

Lingering Thoughts

03.13.10

there comes a point in our lives when we feel like we don't belong

there comes a time in our lives that we think of either we exist or not, in the eyes of others

there comes a time in our lives when all we can think of is our purpose here on earth

and there comes a point in time when you think of just giving up,

'coz the answers to all your questions are just not there.

and it is in these moments that our faith in God should be greater than our beliefs

and that understanding the Will of God makes it more powerful than thinking of answers on our own.

Maya Angelou's Best Poem Ever

A good friend of mine shared this beautiful poem to me in the office. I just want to share it with you - fellow Women and to all you guys' women ^_^

MAYA ANGELOU'S BEST POEM EVER

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
enough money within her control to move out
and rent a place of her own,
even if she never wants to or needs to...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .....
something perfect to wear if the employer,
or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
a youth she's content to leave behind.....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to
retelling it in her old age....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .....
a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
one friend who always makes her laugh... and one who lets her cry...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her family...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems,
and a recipe for a meal,
that will make her guests feel honored...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
a feeling of control over her destiny...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to fall in love without losing herself..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to quit a job,
break up with a lover,
and confront a friend without;
ruining the friendship....
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW....
when to try harder... and WHEN TO WALK AWAY....

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that she can't change the length of her calves,
the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that her childhood may not have been perfect...but it's over...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she would and wouldn't do for love or more...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to live alone... even if she doesn't like it...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW.. .
whom she can trust,
whom she can't,
and why she shouldn't take it personally...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
where to go...
be it to her best friend's kitchen table..
or a charming Inn in the woods...
when her soul needs soothing...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
What she can and can't accomplish in a day...
a month...and a year...
